The Pledge of Allegiance is a promise of oath or allegiance to the United States and to its national flag.
1954 to Present:
" I pledge allegiance to the Flag of the United States of America, and to the Republic for which it stands; one Nation under God, indivisible, with Liberty and Justice for all."
1923 to 1954:
"I pledge allegiance to the Flag of the United States of America, and to the Republic for which it stands; one Nation indivisible, with Liberty and Justice for all."
1893 to 1923:
"I pledge allegiance to my Flag and to the Republic for which it stands; one Nation indivisible, with Liberty and Justice for all."
1892 (Original Version):
